TORI
TEDESCHI ADAMS

Tori Tedeschi Adams is an exciting young soprano whose rich yet effervescent voice and talent for storytelling has quickly caught the attention of the opera world. Ms. Adams recently made an exciting house debut with the Houston Grand Opera as Liesl von Trapp in their production of The Sound of Music, after a successful run in the same role with the Glimmerglass Festival, in which she was praised as a “lovely, sonorous Liesl” (Opera News). This summer, she joined both San Francisco Opera for the US Premiere of Kaija Saariaho’s Innocence as the cover for Student #3 and the Creede Musical Arts Collective as a featured soloist and teaching artist. In the 2023-2024 season, she returned to Music in the Vineyards as a featured soloist, joined the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra for Villa-Lobos’s Bachianas Brasileiras, and made her Brooklyn Art Song Society debut, where she performed both Michael Djupstrom’s 3 Teasdale Songs and the live premiere of Libby Larsen’s The Other Side of Silence.

In the summer of 2023, Ms. Adams appeared in several concerts with the Lakes Area Music Festival as a vocal fellow. The previous summer, appeared as Liesl in The Sound of Music and covered both Frasquita in Carmen and Mimi in the world premiere of Tenor Overboard with the Glimmerglass Festival.

While attending the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, Ms. Adams had the opportunity to sing the roles of Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro and Bianca in La rondine. Other recent credits include Constance in Dialogues des Carmélites, Despina in Così fan tutte, Miles and Flora in The Turn of the Screw, and Gretel in Hänsel und Gretel.

Passionate about new music, Ms. Adams performed in the world premiere productions of Douglas Cuomo’s Doubt with Minnesota Opera and Susan Kander’s The Giver with Project Opera, originating the role of Jonas. She has participated in the workshops of acclaimed operas, including Paul Moravec’s The Shining with Minnesota Opera and Kevin Puts’ The Hours with Cincinnati Opera/Opera Fusion, which saw its premiere at The Metropolitan Opera.

In concert, Ms. Adams has performed as the featured soloist in David Evan Thomas’s To Live in This World with Music in the Vineyards and Fauré’s Requiem with the Oberlin Conservatory Orchestra. She also presented a solo recital at Salon se Lêve Minneapolis and has appeared with the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra as a guest artist.

In addition to The Glimmerglass Festival, Ms. Adams has been a Young Artist with SongFest and Oberlin in Italy. She has received honors from the ThreeArts Foundation, Thursday Musical, the National YoungArts Foundation, and the VSA International Young Soloists Competition, which led to her Kennedy Center debut.
