Canadian mezzo-soprano Ariana Maubach has been praised by Parterre Box for possessing “a plush, dark timbre voice of exceptional richness” (Anna Bolena, Academy of Vocal Arts). Ariana was recently named a finalist in the Canadian Opera Company Ensemble Competition, and will compete in their Centre Stage Concert at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts under the baton of Johannes Debus. 

Ariana is a second year Resident Artist at the Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia, PA. In the 2024/25 season, her assignments include Marthe in Faust and Dorabella in Così fan tutte. In her first year, she appeared as Smeton in Anna Bolena, Bianca in The Rape of Lucretia, and Berta in Il barbiere di Sivigila

Ms. Maubach made her professional debut last season singing Linette in Prokofiev’s The Love for Three Oranges at Des Moines Metro Opera, as part of their Apprentice Artist program. Other highlights include singing the role of Madame in a Fusion workshop of Bulrusher with Cincinnati Opera, performing in La bohème with the Spoleto Festival, and performing in Eugene Onegin at Music Academy of the West. 

Ms. Maubach earned her Bachelor of Music in Voice with Distinction from The Eastman School of Music, and a Master of Music from the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati. While at CCM, Ms. Maubach sang the roles of Mère Marie in Dialogues des Carmélites and Dorothée in L’Amant anonyme.
